After contacting the support team, they were able to determine the cause, but replied that "we are unable to fix this problem" and abandoned any further work.
I am still unable to use this extension to this day, which is very disappointing as I was a loyal user of this extension.

It's truly surprising that a company spamming YouTube partnerships and ads everywhere isn't more responsive in fixing such a serious issue.
Especially since we're paying a subscription to benefit from the VPN's features.

Questa estensione è terribile: rallenta il caricamento delle pagine in una maniera non comprensibile. Se si usa l'applicazione desktop o l'estensione di Chrome non si presenta la stessa lentezza. - Update broke things spectacularly and now force loads all tabs crippling performance. I won't question why it's accessing data on all my tabs because I don't care but other people probably do. Been about a week now for me.
Where my actual complaint comes in is their reaction (or complete lack thereof) with STILL no fix, no rollback, no notice to customers (had to find out about the problem here after disabling a bunch of addons), no functional previous version available in the firefox addon version history area for us to use - nada.
