Okta forces end users to install a plugin they clearly do not need.

I need to use Okta for work, otherwise I would avoid this like the plague. Requires way to many permissions for the problem it is supposed to solve. It was perfectly possible to do the same work from the subdomain.okta.com webpage and they removed that support to force users to install a plugin that brings them no benefits, just provides access to their browsing.

OKTA probably works okay. Just watch out if your a small company owned by a much larger one. They occasionally take people off the digital roster so you can sign into OKTA but none of the applications will say you exist. *fuming mad*

Works well for a single Okta org. The shortcut, ⌘⇧O, worked fairly well (sometimes it didn't focus in the plugin's search field) until Firefox set that shortcut to open the bookmarks view, now it doesn't work. If that were configurable, that would be awesome.

Edit: Thank you Rich Lafferty for the tip to change the shortcut for any firefox addon: "in about:addons, click the gear icon, choose "Manage extension shortcuts", and assign your favorite keybinding."

Works as expected, but the important thing I wanted to leave here is: you can remap the key binding! Yes, Firefox uses cmd-shift-O itself, so the advertised one does not work -- but in about:addons, click the gear icon, choose "Manage extension shortcuts", and assign your favorite keybinding. I've been using opt-shift-O (which is also Ø, but Firefox is smart about knowing whether you're in a form field or not).

I wish Okta would've shipped an extension with a usable default binding, but at least it's configurable.

EDIT 2: Thanks to another reviewer, I found out you can remap the shortcut key, which was the primary reason for my 3 star choice. Not sure why Okta doesn't ship a default key binding that actually works, or why they haven't updated their own website to reflect this change, and I also think it's pretty telling that I had to find out this information from another reviewer, so I'm not going to change it. Anyways, HUGE thanks Rich L.!

Does what it's supposed to do, which is good enough for me. But seriously, still no keyboard shortcut in March of 2021? I loathe having to click on this thing every time I want to access anything, and the extra 3 seconds it takes for me to click on the plugin and then the search dialog adds up really fast given how often I need to use it. That's literally my only complaint, but I use keyboard shortcuts for almost everything on my computer, so my inability to do this for something I use so often is really quite irritating.

I see there are other reviews which mention this, and there are replies from the Okta team that they're working on it from as far back as September 2019...I understand that web development is not easy (I'm a developer myself), and I know the team has other more important priorities which is totally okay, but I have kind of a hard time believing it takes that long to implement a keyboard shortcut for one browser.

Okta team, thank you sincerely for all the hard work you've done and the very useful/powerful application you've built, but if you could at least share if you're planning on implementing this in the near future, that would be really appreciated, as it well help me decide if I want to find a workaround for this or not.

Keyboard shortcut stopped working. Bring it back please!
