The desktop version works very well and the support is excellent. There is a current problem with the auto-updating that the developer hopes to resolve.
A remaining issue is the confusion between the extension and the desktop version which is not explained. When I installed the desktop version the extension no longer worked. On this page the desktop version is not referenced I'm so not sure if this page is just out of date. In any case the cost of the desktop version is $25 and well worth it.

This Video Downloader really works (compared to others) so long as Youtube doesn't change the algorithms that prevent download. And that makes the developer to really slog it out to change the plugin again to make it workable again. But I am glad the update did come out in the end making video downloads from Youtube possible again, in various sizes.

2024=I actually use 3 different Add-ons in different browsers, incl. Firefox developer; EYVD is the ONLY one that have worked on every scenario and it is the closest to fix the zero-day changes made at Y0uTB3.
