How Offlyn Apply handles your data
The Short Version
Your data never leaves your device. Offlyn Apply stores everything locally in your browser and makes zero network requests to external servers.
100% Local No Accounts
What Data We Store
Your profile - Name, email, phone, work history, education (entered by you during onboarding)
Job applications - Company, position, date, status (recorded when you submit applications)
Learned values - Corrections you make to autofill suggestions, so the extension improves over time
Extension settings - Your preferences (enabled/disabled, dry run mode, etc.)
All data is stored in browser.storage.local on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere.
What We Do NOT Do
We do not collect analytics or telemetry
We do not track your browsing history
We do not send data to any server (ours or third-party)
We do not require an account or login
We do not use cookies or fingerprinting
We do not inject ads or affiliate links
AI Features (Ollama)
Offlyn Apply uses Ollama for AI-powered features like resume parsing and cover letter generation. Ollama runs locally on your computer - your data stays on your machine.
Ollama communicates via a local native messaging bridge (localhost:11434)
No data is sent to OpenAI, Google, or any cloud AI service
If Ollama is not installed, AI features are simply disabled
Permissions Explained
Here's why the extension requests each permission:

Data Deletion
You have full control over your data at all times:
Settings page - Reset Self-ID data or clear all applications
Onboarding page - Delete learned values individually
Uninstall - Removing the extension deletes all stored data automatically
Third-Party Services
The dashboard uses Chart.js for rendering charts. Chart.js is bundled locally within the extension — no external resources are loaded. It does not collect or transmit any user data.
