Rarely does work on input fields, but when it does, it's pretty good.

Firenvim not taking over input fields is done on purpose. You can add input fields to the list of elements Firenvim should take over by changing the 'selector' setting: https://github.com/glacambre/firenvim#configuring-what-elements-firenvim-should-appear-on .
