IPFS Companion — IPFS Shipyard

IPFS Companion connects your browser to a local Kubo IPFS node (either through the IPFS Desktop app or the command-line daemon), enabling native support for ipfs:// and ipns:// addresses, automatic IPFS gateway loading of websites and file paths, easy IPFS file and folder import and sharing, and more.

• Automatically use IPFS to retrieve sites, files, and other resources already stored on IPFS (including redirecting DNSLink hostnames to IPNS names through your node)
• Open ipfs:// and ipns:// addresses and content-addressed /ipfs/ and /ipns/ paths, and load them through your node or a gateway of your choice
• Import files and whole folders to your local IPFS node via right-click or drag-and-drop; folders keep their structure and get a single CID
• Public gateways are optional: run fully on your local node, or fall back to a public gateway only when you choose to
• Get a plain explanation with a one-click fix when an ipfs:// address is broken, instead of a confusing gateway error
• See how many peers you're connected to at a glance from your browser's menu bar, and check gateway info and Kubo RPC status with a single click
• Copy native ipfs:// and ipns:// addresses, or shareable gateway links, snapshot links, IPNS/IPFS paths, and CIDs for IPFS-hosted sites
• Pin files and launch your IPFS Web UI dashboard right from your browser

IMPORTANT NOTES

• You'll need a local IPFS node running on your computer to enjoy all of IPFS Companion's features, either from your terminal or using the friendly, free IPFS Desktop app. Visit ipfs.tech to learn more and install.
• IPFS Companion has no analytics or tracking. Because it detects IPFS resources on the web, it needs permission to read and write to any web page. It was reviewed by the AMO team, and you can always read our privacy policy and view the source code yourself.
