— rdp73667, pred 9 meseciProton Pass is still young in the sense of how long it has been available to the American public, but it is growing rapidly. The nonprofit behind Proton is quick to add new features and keen to consider suggestions. I didn't think anything could compete with Roboform, but Pass comes darned close. I have been looking for a good, intuitive, inexpensive password manager to that is competitive with Roboform and Bitwarden, but, unlike those two companies, is NOT US-based and subject to the pressures of an American administration bent on trampling our civil liberties. Proton is headquartered in Switzerland and protected by some of the tightest privacy and security laws in the world. Their products are all open-sourced. They do not answer to shareholders and the capitalist god of greed. I am in the process of a total migration to Proton Pass, Proton VPN, Proton Mail, and Proton Drive. If there is someday a Proton ISP, I'll be there, too.

However, the authentication process for Proton Pass is just... not working properly.
Either:
- I don’t set a separate password for Proton Pass (keep the same password as my Proton account), then Proton Pass extension allows anyone who is logged into my browser to use my passwords without asking first for authentication.
Or:
- I set a specific password for Proton Pass. Then I am asked to first log in to my Proton account with my regular password, and then log in again to Proton Pass with my Proton Pass password. And yet, the extension continues to ask me to “activate Proton Pass” by authenticating... so I’m unable to use my passwords.
This is so confusing. In the first case, why isn’t the extension asking for the Proton password before activation? In the second case, why doesn’t it accept only(!!) the Proton Pass password and start working?
(Thankfully, I have my KeePass manager as a backup.)Odgovor razvijalca
objavljeno ob pred 3 dneviHello! Thank you for your feedback Anna. You could add a PIN to unlock the browser extension if you prefer not to set a separate password for Proton Pass.
After setting an extra password for Proton Pass, the extension will require you to provide your original password and your extra password on the first login, afterwards it should only require the extra password.
