Many languages, such as Japanese and Chinese have similar letters and words, but have pretty much different meanings. Google translate detects many of my Japanese texts as Chinese. This is where auto-detect language fails and we need to manually change the source language.

The last 1.5 year it's basically useless. 50% of the time I try to translate something, it gives VERY wrong translation (not just wrong). And that's IF it manages to do so. about 30% of the time it doesn't even translate, just outputs the same text that I gave it.
