Looked into it and turns out the Ctrl + 9 taking to the last tab is a default firefox behaviour. And since the add on simply displays the numbers in front of the tab name, it cannot tweak this behavior.
Accordingly, I have updated the add on to remove the [9] tab since it would have been mis-leading and have accordingly updated the description of the add on.
