Wayback Everywhere Privacy Policy

In this document, "It" refers the Wayback Everywhere addon/extension, and "We" or "Us" refers the developer(s) of this addon.

Wayback Everywhere does not collect any data at all about its users and send to its developer(s) It does not (and technically cannot - see sourcecode in gitlab at https://gitlab.com/gkrishnaks/WaybackEverywhere-Firefox) send any data back to any central server owned by developer(s). It stores "Excludes List", "stats", and other settings in user's local storage - and never sends it to any server anywhere. It does not (again, technically cannot - see sourcecode) collect a list of URLs you visit and send to us in any form or way. We do not wish to know what sites you browse.

The archived pages are fetched from (or saved in) the Internet Archive (archive.org) Wayback Machine (web.archive.org). If you need clarifications about Wayback Machine, checkout the web.archive.org site. If you wish to have your website/page/resource removed from the wayback machine (web.archive.org), please reach out to the Internet Archive team

As per request received from Wayback Machine team at Internet Archive, the addon sends a unique useragent "Save Page Request from WaybackEverywhere Browser Extension".
This is for their audit purpose so that Wayback Machine team can track the number of save requests sent from this addon/extension. The developer(s) of this addon will not be able to know on which pages/urls the "save page" requests were sent to Wayback Machine.

When you install any addon/extension, Google Chrome store or Mozilla addons.mozilla.org or Opera addons store (whichever of these you installed it from) merely tracks the "number of installations" of any addon. Updates to this extension/addon will be provided on the means provided by browser vendor like Google or Mozilla or Opera via their respective update methods
