WhatsApp Direct lets you start a WhatsApp chat from any webpage in a single click. It automatically detects phone numbers on sites you visit and adds a tiny “WA” chip next to them. Click the chip (or use the popup) to open the chat in WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp app. Fast, clean, and privacy-friendly.

How it works

On page load, the add-on scans visible text for phone-like numbers (8–15 digits; supports +, spaces, dashes, brackets).

Each match gets a small “WA” chip—click to open chat.

Use the toolbar popup to enter a number and optional message.

Use the context menu: select a number → Open in WhatsApp.

Permissions & privacy

Permissions: contextMenus, storage, and a content script to render “WA” chips.

Storage: Only your settings (default country code, preferences) are saved locally/sync.

Data collection: None. This add-on does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.

Network: Only opens official WhatsApp endpoints (wa.me / whatsapp://).

Compatibility

Designed for Firefox desktop.

Works with both WhatsApp Web and the installed WhatsApp app (if supported by your system).
