FileShot is a zero-knowledge encrypted file sharing service. All encryption and decryption happens locally in your browser using AES-256-GCM. The server never has access to your encryption keys or unencrypted file contents.
Data collected: We collect only what is necessary to operate the service — encrypted file blobs, file metadata (size, type, expiry), and basic account information if you create an account. We do not track browsing activity, collect analytics, or serve ads.
The extension stores upload history locally in browser storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly share a link.
