It still works for me. When installing the extension did you check the "Allow this extension to run in Private Windows" option? The extension needs that permission, since it opens private windows. Look in about:addons > "Open Page in Private Window" extension's "Manage" options and confirm that the "Run in Private Windows" option set to "Allowed".
