Privacy Policy for Bing Search Timer & Helper

This Firefox browser extension ("Bing Search Timer & Helper") respects your privacy. It is designed to function entirely locally on your computer.

Data Collection and Usage:

No Personal Data Collected: This extension does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any personally identifiable information or browsing activity.

Local Storage Only: All data required for the extension's functionality is stored locally on your computer using the browser's built-in storage mechanism (browser.storage.local). This data includes:

Your configured timer duration goal.

The last saved position of the widget on the screen.

The list of search terms suggested by the extension today (used solely to prevent duplicates within the current day and reset daily).

The date the extension was last used (to know when to reset the daily suggestion list).

Any custom search templates or data lists (systems, developers, etc.) that you optionally configure via the extension's options page.

Purpose of Local Data: This locally stored data is used exclusively to:

Remember your preferred timer settings and widget position between browser sessions.

Prevent showing you the same random search suggestion multiple times in one day.

Allow you to customize the pool of data used for generating suggestions.

Clipboard Access: The "Copy" button uses the browser's clipboard API (navigator.clipboard.writeText) to copy the suggested text only when you explicitly click the button. The extension does not read from or monitor your clipboard otherwise.

No External Communication: The extension does not send any data to external servers or third parties. It only interacts with the Bing search results page to display the widget and reset the timer, and fetches default data lists from its own internal package files if needed for the options page.

No data is shared with any third parties.

Changes to This Policy:

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. Any changes will be reflected in the updated extension version.
