Overview
Glidr is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension processes text locally and communicates only with AI providers you configure.
Data Collection
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
What Data is Processed
- Text Input: Text you type in web forms is analyzed for corrections
- Processed locally in your browser
- Sent to your configured AI provider (Gemini, OpenAI, or Claude)
- NOT stored on our servers (we don't have servers)
- API Keys: Your AI provider API keys
- Stored locally in browser storage (
chrome.storage.local) - Never transmitted to anyone except your chosen AI provider
- Encrypted by browser's built-in storage security
- Cache: Correction results for performance
- Stored locally in browser storage
- Automatically expires after 7 days
- Can be cleared at any time
What We DON'T Do
- ❌ No telemetry or analytics
- ❌ No user tracking
- ❌ No data sent to our servers
- ❌ No third-party data sharing
- ❌ No cookies
- ❌ No user accounts
Data Sent to AI Providers
When you use Glidr, text is sent to the AI provider YOU configure:
- Gemini (Google): Text sent to Google's API with your API key
- OpenAI: Text sent to OpenAI's API with your API key (future)
- Claude (Anthropic): Text sent to Anthropic's API with your API key (future)
Each provider has their own privacy policy:
Anonymization
Glidr includes optional text anonymization that removes:
- Email addresses →
[EMAIL] - URLs →
[URL] - Names (basic detection) →
[NAME]
This feature is enabled by default but can be disabled in settings.
Data Security
- Local Storage: All data stored using browser's secure storage API
- HTTPS Only: All API communications use encrypted HTTPS
- No Backend: No server infrastructure means no server vulnerabilities
- Open Source: Code is publicly auditable on GitHub
Your Rights
You can:
- ✅ Clear all cached data from extension settings
- ✅ Delete your API key at any time
- ✅ Uninstall the extension (removes all local data)
- ✅ Review the source code on GitHub
Children's Privacy
Glidr does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on:

- Extension settings page
