Nominated for most mysterious star in the Milky Way, the light from it's explosion 20K light years ago reached earth in 2002. The diameter of the outburst shell is about 6 light years. When rotated 180 degrees, the NASA image at apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap040305.html resembles the Firefox logo. Various photos of V838 has been featured as the NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day website nine times since 2002.
