Pro features are indeed locked and there is no trial. The approach is, subscribe to keep extension alive and you will get those finished pro features unlocked as a bonus.
So adding them as "try before you buy - does not make sense in this scenario", sorry. I do not think that any Pro features are really that much important, all the basic functionality is already there and free to use.
