Worked great until macOS 26.4...
Now, the extension prompts the user to save the login even though the login already exists. Honestly, macOS26 has been the best and the worst version ever. Steve would have been infuriated that the user interface is so broken.

Running MacOS 26 and it all works perfectly for me, I nearly didn't download it because of all the recent 1* reviews.

Ever since Apple released macOS 24.4, this extension prompts the user to save the login even though the login already exists ! This is infuriating as Apple has released an update to the extension for Chrome based browsers that fixes this but NOTHING for Firefox!

It somehow works better on Windows than it does on MacOS, including for the same reasons people are mentioning below (the login popup, or somehow treating random form items like password fields).

The addon has not been updated since December 2025, while the Chrome version has had multiple updates. And that version also seems to address these issues specifically in its updates.

Same as a lot of other reviews. Everything is great except after every login a popup asks for the username to save even though that info is already there. Every login. Annoying to the point that I disabled the extension.

Breaks a simple input textarea box on a simple html page. I can't hit enter to newline anymore due to this bug. Why is such a bug existent? Please properly guard your invariants!!!

Temporary fix: disable this stupid setting:

It doesn't work on Firefox. When added for the first time it just tells you this: "The Passwords extension is not currently
available on Firefox for Windows. It is
available in Chrome and Edge."

This extension makes Firefox unresponsive whenever I try to type something in any textbox, not just password. It's a shame this comes from Apple.

The save username pop up is so annoying I thought this problem is with my ios system it turns out only happens here.

Same as previous comment: worked more than fine for a long time, now it keeps displaying a message saying: "Enter the username for this account to finish saving your password and allow safari to autofill."

Even though that password had already been saved and this issue was not happening.

Not a great implementation, basic features work on macOS but this extension needs improving.

- Prevents enter key on login forms
- Needs ability to exclude site/domain from autofill/prompting update

Works well enough and I haven't noticed performance issues related to it. A few annoyances:
- prevents hitting Enter to submit a login form
- requires being authorized via push notification after every Firefox reinstall (I'm on the beta channel so this happens often)
- no option to just fill in passwords without needing TouchID for every one

Really, this thing shouldn't even be necessary though. Apple provides the APIs for Firefox to directly access iCloud Keychain. Firefox should be using them.

it's extremely buggy and probably deliberately so. Apple does not want you to switch from Safari to Firefox

why add it to the store if it isn't even available? i don't see the point.
