Thanks for the suggestion. I avoid using grey tabs as they are a little bit hard to distinguish from inactive tabs. But I am planning to make a pitch black theme with grey tabs when I have time soon.

Thanks for the suggestion. By default the active tab already looks like an inactive tab in new UI. So a colorless version would cause too much confusion in my opinion. Still I might try the concept in the future.
