    This extension claims to add an alternative search engine that is privacy focused, which it does, but it also acts like a virus and takes over your browser. It changes your home page and takes over control of tracking protection. Installing Quant REDUCED my privacy by turning off some of Firefox's built in tracking protection. There is no need for this behaviour just to add a search engine, I will be uninstalling now and recommending people avoid this malware.

    Hello, we're really sorry that the add-on does not meet you expectations.
    If you only want the SE (and not the homepage and privacy settings change) you can install our other add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/qwant-com/
    Nevertheless, can you please explain us what where the reductions in you privacy settings? We're really curious and will absolutely improve this point.

    Convient parfaitement aux recherches de tout type, la sécurité en plus (quand on sait comment sont marchandées nos données personnelles....). Et pour ne rien gâcher, c'est 100% français. Je l'utilise depuis plusieurs années et je suis vraiment satisfait de ce choix. Je conseille vivement.

    Wonder Why This IS Not A Recommended Extension? Google Spies/Tries/Dies, wikipedia fries/flies, Startpage uses google.com and also those ones and duckduckgo do not choose to tell you what data they are collecting and who it is it sent to.

    Brave Software have launched action saying that GDPR has not been enforced on Google, and also MANY MANY web-sites say that you need to accept or consent or understand or whatever to data collection YET THEY DO NOT PREVENT YOU FROM USING THE WEB-SITE WHICH YOU HAVE NOT GIVEN PERMISSION TO COLLECT DATA FOR.

    Je mets 4 étoile car Qwant protège mes recherches des prédateurs de données. Cependant, je n'ai pas mis 5 étoiles car, à plusieurs reprises, pour des recherches qui ne me semblaient pas très complexes, Google a donné un résultat nettement meilleurs que Qwant. Je mets ça sur la jeunesse de Qwant et je continue à l'utiliser bien sur.

    Enervant: Impossible de passer la page d'accueil en mode sombre une fois le module installé.
    J'ai envoyé des mails à Qwant pour leur demander comment faire mais aucune réponse...
    Le module ne se connecte pas à mon compte qui est configuré pour entrer en sombre, et une fois le module installé on ne peu pas plus changer l'adresse de la page d'accueil Qwant...
    Ils ne doivent pas utiliser leurs modules... ni même leurs boites mails...

    Concernant la possibilité de changer l'adresse de la page d'accueil, ceci n'est pas actuellement réalisable dans une extension navigateur, pour pouvoir confirgurer votre page d'accuei, nous vous conseillons d'installer https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/qwant-com/ qui ne change que votre moteur de recherche par défaut.

    meh! I just want the ability to set to a different search engine, not find what seems to behave like a virus and takes over my browser.

    You can make Qwant your default Firefox browser without installing the extension by navigating to the Qwant site. Clicking the search box icon will allow you to add Qwant as a search engine and make it the default if you like.

    This works. It gives me the option to make qwant my search engine and is customizable without hard-wiring any preferences.

    Why on;y 4? It seems a tad slow. If this is because the sites are in europe, I would accept that. I am not sure at this time.

    Hello, we're sorry that this addon does not suit you but brace yourself, another addon is already available : https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/qwant-com/
    This second addon, also handcrafted by our developers does not change your homepage and only sets Qwant as your default search engine.
