SciCalc Sidekick — Scientific Calculator gizlilik ilkeleri
SciCalc Sidekick — Scientific Calculator geliştiren: ScienceDigest.org
SciCalc Sidekick is built to be local-first and secret-free. This policy describes exactly what the extension reads, stores, and transmits.
What we read
Only the text you explicitly send. When you choose “Send to SciCalc” from the right-click menu, the extension reads the text you selected, plus a small amount of surrounding context (about 80 characters) to recover a unit the selection may have cut off. This happens only on that click, only on the active tab, and nothing remains on the page.
The extension has no host permissions and cannot read any page on its own initiative. It never reads page content in the background, never tracks browsing, and never accesses history, bookmarks, cookies, or saved credentials.
What we store (on your device only)
Calculation history and preferences (angle mode, precision, copy format, keypad layout), saved via Chrome’s storage.local. History never leaves your device and is not synced.
Preferences and your Pro tier are mirrored to Chrome storage.sync so they roam with your Chrome profile. History is deliberately excluded from sync.
Your Pro license key and a short-lived entitlement token (if you purchase Pro).
What we transmit
Nothing about your calculations — ever. Expressions, results, and history are never sent anywhere.
The only network request the extension makes is to the license server, and it transmits only your license key to verify and refresh your Pro entitlement. No calculation content, no identifiers, no analytics.
What we do NOT do
No analytics or telemetry SDKs. No crash/error-reporting SDKs. No advertising. No selling or sharing of data. No third-party trackers.
Retention & deletion
History and preferences persist until you clear them. Settings → Clear history removes all entries (with confirmation) and clears them from storage. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.
Your license key/token can be removed at any time via Settings → License → Deactivate.
Revocation
Pro entitlements are revocable server-side. On the next refresh the extension will drop to the free tier if the entitlement has been revoked.
