Version 1.3.12 (October 1, 2025)
Added new Advanced setting: Sleep Delay
Small update that puts more control in the users hands. This has been a part of sleepy tabs for a while, but Ive decided to expose the setting to users for troubleshooting purposes.
About Sleep Delay
Sleep Delay controls how long SleepyTabs waits between loading the sleeping page and discarding the tab. This timing is important for ensuring the sleeping page's favicon and title appear correctly in your browser tabs.
The default value of 250ms works well for most systems, but you can adjust it if needed:
- If sleeping tabs show blank favicons or incorrect titles, try increasing this value
Technical Details
When SleepyTabs puts a tab to sleep, it follows this sequence:
1. Replace the tab's content with our sleeping page
2. Wait for the Sleep Delay period
3. Discard the tab for maximum memory savings
Without enough delay, the browser might discard the tab before it fully loads the sleeping page information, resulting in missing icons, titles, or even skipping the sleeping page entirely.

1. Tab restoration can occasionally fail after browser crashes, restarts, or when the browser changes tab IDs internally.
