Aar318's Twitch & Kick Chat Translator: Real-Time Chat Translation for Twitch and Kick

Translate Twitch and Kick chat messages into your chosen language in real time. This lightweight extension uses Google's free Translate API to automatically convert foreign-language chat into English (or any other supported language), with per-message hover tooltips showing the original text, a flag indicator for detected source language, and a clean right-click language selector built right into the chat input bar.

⚡ Quick Install Steps
- Click Add to Chrome on the Chrome Web Store page.
- When prompted, choose Add extension.
- Open Chrome's Extensions menu (puzzle-piece icon) and Pin the extension so the icon is always visible.
- Refresh your Twitch or Kick tab and the 🌐 button will appear in the chat input bar automatically.
- The extension starts disabled by default — click the 🌐 button or the extension icon to enable translation.
- Right-click the 🌐 button to choose your target language. Your choice is saved automatically.

Key Features:

Real-Time Translation: Automatically translates new and existing chat messages as they arrive, using Google Translate's free endpoint. Short messages and messages already in your target language are skipped to reduce noise.

Easy Controls: Toggle translation on/off with a single click on the injected 🌐 button or the extension icon. The button turns green and displays the detected source language flag when active.

Language Selector: Right-click the 🌐 button to open a clean popup menu. Supports English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Chinese. More can be added easily.

Original Text on Hover: Translated messages show a subtle dotted underline. Hovering over them reveals the original text in a tooltip.

Donate Button: The right-click language menu includes a ☕ Donate link at the top for supporters.

Translation Cache: Already-translated messages are cached locally per session to avoid redundant API calls.

Privacy Focused: Only your selected language preference is stored locally. No personal data, chat content, or user information is ever sent to any server other than Google Translate (the same service your browser uses at translate.google.com). No tracking, no analytics, no external accounts required.


This extension works on Twitch.tv and Kick.com tabs and starts disabled by default for user control.
