Opening another closed group while already in a group's tab, that group will be merged and disappear. I look forward to a new feature to enable/disable it. - Xếp hạng 5 trong số 5bởi www159, 3 tháng trước

Hope this helps. - Xếp hạng 4 trong số 5bởi Người dùng Firefox 13862294, 4 tháng trước

With that said, I've experienced many bugs. For example, sometimes when I click on a tab group, instead of all the tabs inside it collapsing, it creates new tabs. Also, the shortcut for opening tabs outside the tab group (the default being Alt+Shift+T) is not working. I have tried to change the hotkeys in the settings but it still doesn't work. Please fix these issues. Thnx

[edit] Thank you for your quick response. Unfortunately it still does not work for me, although I am using version 1.5.0. I am using Linux Mint Cinnemon with the Firefox-Version 138.0.1 by the way.
Just to be clear: I am talking about the drop down menu shown in this screenshot (in this case you would reopen "Ghacks") : www.ghacks.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/firefox-tab-groups-stable.png
Thank you for implementing this missing feature. Unfortunately I think it breaks the reopening of tab groups that were saved upon closing (accessed via the tab groups overview) by adding the tabs of the group into the group of the currently active tab instead of reopening them in the group they were saved in.
5 stars if fixed :)Phản hồi của nhà phát triển

[edit] it should be fixed on version 1.5.0
Thank you so much for the rating and the feedback, super helpful and important. You're right, that could be the case. I’ll look into it and see if there’s something we can do to fix it. - Xếp hạng 5 trong số 5bởi Người dùng Firefox 16950841, 7 tháng trướcWorks exactly as it says! A small yet very nice QOL improvement.
- Xếp hạng 5 trong số 5bởi fm-sys, 7 tháng trướcNice, exactly what I need! :)
It would be cool though if it would be able to differ between ctrl+t and the new tab button. For my use case I would like to map the shortcut like you did but leave the new tab button like it is.
Would that be possible?Phản hồi của nhà phát triển

Thank you so much for the 5-star review and for your fantastic suggestion! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your idea about differentiating new tab creation methods.
You'll be pleased to know that your feedback was the direct inspiration for a new feature that will be available in the very next version (1.3.0)!
While directly distinguishing between a Ctrl+T keyboard press and a click on the browser's new tab button isn't reliably possible for extensions, we've implemented a solution that we believe addresses your use case for having more control:
New Dedicated Shortcut for Standard Tabs: We've added a new, separate keyboard shortcut : Alt+Shift+T
Bypasses Grouping Logic: When you use this new shortcut, it will open a new tab in the standard Firefox way – completely bypassing our extension's automatic grouping and placement logic. The tab will open exactly as it would if the extension wasn't managing new tabs.
Optional Feature: You can enable or disable this new shortcut via a toggle in the extension's options page.
So, your regular Ctrl+T or clicking the new tab button will still work as before, grouping the tab according to your main preferences in the extension. But now, when you want a new tab to open without any grouping rules applied, you can use the new Alt+Shift+T shortcut.
We think this gives the flexibility you were looking for! Thanks again for the brilliant idea that helped improve New Tab Same Group. We hope you enjoy the new feature when version 1.3.0 is released.
