The greatest setback, from Fast Dial, is that I'm unable to set my Bookmarks Toolbar as the root folder. This was very good because it meant I had only one bookmark collection and I could use one to organize the other.

EDIT: Thanks that worked! There was a quirk though. it renamed all bookmars I had renamed back to default. It was also unable to render the separators and got stuck in a loop refreshing them.

With Quick Dial, you can set a different folder. Go to Quick Dial Settings on the bottom of grid tab.
I've missed time to add a select box for folder but you can set it by path...
For me in french : /Barre personnelle
