The Submit to Hacker News extension is a free, open-source browser extension that helps users submit content to Hacker News with optimized titles, duplicate detection, and built-in community guidelines.

Data We Access

• Current tab URL (only when you actively use the extension)
• Current tab title (only when you actively use the extension)

Data We DON'T Collect

• ❌ No personal information (name, email, etc.)
• ❌ No browsing history beyond the current tab
• ❌ No stored data or cookies
• ❌ No analytics or tracking
• ❌ No user accounts or authentication

How Data Is Used

• Title optimization happens entirely in your browser
• URL is sent to Hacker News' official API for duplicate checking
• No data is sent to our servers (we don't have any)
• No data is stored beyond the current session

Third Party Services

Hacker News API: When checking for duplicates, your current tab URL is sent to hacker-news.firebaseio.com (Hacker News' official API). This is governed by Firebase's Privacy Policy.
