Understanding the "Human Verification Required" Notification

To ensure uninterrupted job tracking, our extension includes a proactive "Human Verification Required" notification. This is not an error, but a crucial alert indicating that Upwork has presented a security challenge (like a CAPTCHA) to verify human activity. These challenges are a standard part of Upwork's security protocols and can temporarily pause the extension's ability to fetch new job listings.

How it works:

When a human verification page is detected, the extension will display this notification. We've implemented a smart delay and cooldown period to minimize annoyance: the notification will only appear after a 5-second delay to account for automatic page redirects. This ensures you're only alerted when your action is genuinely needed. Additionally, notifications are limited to once per verification instance, with a 30-minute cooldown to prevent repetitive alerts.

What to do if you see it:

If this notification appears, especially if it recurs frequently, it means your intervention is required. Simply click on the notification. This will take you directly to the pinned Upwork tab where you can complete the CAPTCHA or security check. Once you've verified, the extension will automatically detect the cleared page and resume its normal job tracking functions. This feature is designed to empower you to quickly resolve security challenges and keep your job search flowing seamlessly.
