loged in your account though proxy,Desktop application can connect to certen server and work properly.but,in the plugin, select the same server won't let you connect to any web site.

Chinese firewall is very aggressive. Since the extension relies on DNS (which is poisoned in China), there is only so much that can be done. if the desktop app works, use that, and just use the extension to block ads and trackers.
