this is not the extension some people are complaining about being a malware.

its the fake version called "dark reader for ff" pretending to be this extension and other 17 extensions.

dnt listen to crybabies. confirm the news before removing a good extension like DR

This addon is NOT the addon mentioned in recent articles (December 15th 2025'ish). Google "dark reader github" Then click the discussion tab at the top. A Dark Reader Dev has posted that this is NOT the addon mentioned in the news, regarding stenography malware.

Been using this for years, highly recommend, saves my eyes and keeps my OLED screens dark for long term survivability.

I like this addon, but I really want an option to use it on restricted websites.

Its a good addon, but it automatically turns my custom theme black, which is why i did not rate it 5 stars.

If the option to leave the theme alone appears, ill fix this rating to a 5, but otherwise, it gets a 4.

Let me have my stary pixelated theme god damn it >:T

life-saver for my retinas, HOWEVER
costs a LOT of ram. if your browser lags hard i gotta go to task manager, firefox and kill the sub-program trying to eat 12gb of my 32 ram. usually works for long enough until i gotta repeat 10-15 mins later

Works well on most websites, with or without tweaking. Prevents flashbangs even on "dark-themed" sites.

I *really* want to like this extension. It's got a lot of promise. But it's a huge resource hog, at least on my system. I have to fiddle with it on any site with even slightly fancy styling, so I can't really justify the performance dip. I tried switching to a CSS injector with some basic rules and it was more reliable and efficient than this. I hope (and have faith) that'll one day change, but for now I can't use this.
