DDB – Character Sheet Overhaul upgrades your D&D Beyond character sheet with better turn tracking, smarter conditions, visual spell effects, per-character themes, a map tab, and a hands tracker. It bundles a lot of small quality-of-life tools into one extension so you can spend less time fighting the sheet and more time actually playing.
From a player’s point of view, you get clearer turn flow, easier condition and note handling, quick ways to apply damage and healing, and strong visual feedback when important events happen.
Features
Haste condition – Adds a proper Haste toggle in the Conditions panel plus a Speed×2 chip so you can switch Haste on and off like a native condition.
End Turn button – Adds an “End Turn” button in the header that clears a per-turn checklist and keeps you honest about when your turn is actually done.
Condition durations – Lets you attach round or turn counters to conditions and tick them down automatically when you hit End Turn.
Contagions – Adds Cackle Fever, Sewer Plague, and Sight Rot as built-in style conditions with simple on/off chips.
Custom conditions – Provides multiple editable “Custom” condition rows with names and notes, plus summary chips so your homebrew effects are actually visible.
Action checks + Concentration bar – Adds a draggable turn bar with checkboxes (attack, bonus action, movement, reaction, etc.), a Concentration pill, scaling/rotation controls, and a pop-out view so you can park it where you want on the sheet.
Inline notes editor – Lets you edit notes directly on the sheet with a proper caret while staying synced to the notes side panel, so you are not jumping back and forth.
UI v2 (Abilities & Skills layout) – Rebuilds the abilities/skills area into six horizontal rows (one per ability), puts each saving throw directly under its ability badge, and adds an Active/Passive column toggle with a smooth slide transition while keeping header and footer elements fixed.
Active theme sweep – Recolors the current DDB theme per character (accent colors, frames, surfaces, backgrounds) so the sheet actually matches that character’s look.
Custom backdrop tile – Adds a “Custom” tile in Backdrops so you can upload an image or video as a per-character background, re-apply it later, replace it, or delete it.
Inventory star – Adds a small star next to each item so you can mark key gear and color the star per item for quick visual sorting.
Low HP warning glow – Shows a pulsing halo/edge and heartbeat-style feedback around the sheet when your hit points drop below a safe threshold.
Damage / heal FX – On damage, shows blood slashes or sprays, light screen shake, and optional impact audio; on healing, shows soft green orbs and a glow so big swings feel noticeable.
Spell cast glyphs – When you cast a spell or roll a spell attack, shows an animated magic circle with V/S/M orbs plus layered audio based on spell school and damage type.
Game log Apply buttons – Adds “Apply” buttons to your own DAMAGE and HEAL entries in the game log that push the numbers straight into your HP adjust UI while honoring resistances, immunities, and vulnerabilities, with small damage-type icons for clarity.
MAP tab – Adds a MAP tab to the sheet where you can load an image or URL, pan and zoom, drop and label markers, and keep a saved layout per character.
Hands tracker – Tracks which hands are occupied with weapons, shields, or items and can warn or block attacks that do not make sense with your current hand setup.
Wild Shape (2024) helper – Adds a Transform/Revert control for 2024 Wild Shape that applies beast STR/DEX/CON to overrides, adjusts max HP by Con modifier and level, sets Circle of the Moon AC when relevant, copies speeds and key attacks, and adds a beast portrait overlay so you can move in and out of forms with a single click.
