Today I installed the latest iteration and now I have not only the sun icon in the sidebar but an umbrella at the lower right of my window.
I don't want the umbrella as the sidebar option gives me all I need with the same effort. How do I get rid of it???
ETA: Thanks, Olesandr. That did the trick. Upgrading my rating. - 评分 1 / 5来自 remmmie,8 年前First THANK YOU for updating Forecastfox. But I don't care what Mozilla says about no more add-on bar after v57, someone will write code to add it back, and many of us simply won't upgrade to 57 until that's available again. If that means not updating FF until Nov 2018 or later, so be it.
ASide from this new vers not being in the add-on bar, I don't like the way it presents. The last version was PERFECT for my tastes... glad I archived a copy. Sorry, this one is not to my liking at all. :(开发者回应

It used to bring up my local radar. Please bring this one-click functionality back. I don't want to have to drill down to get to my local radar and weather forecast.

In case of printing you have the bar on your hardcopy.
2)
You should use a fixed height for the text, otherwise it gets bigger and bigger in case you change the zoom and hides the bottom part of your site.
3)
If you have an input part on your site, it´s hidden by forecast开发者回应

I totally agree to Shananiganeer and others who are missing the "One-glance-weather" in the statusbar or any other bar. I used to place it in the menubar.
Whithout this function it is useless for me and I have to uninstall it because of the monstrous popups and the need to push the mouse to its place.
PLEASE rebuild our addonbar functionality.开发者回应
发布于 8 年前The statusbar/addonbar is missing in new versions of Firefox.
The current version of Forecastfox is the version for the new API: WebExtensions (supported Firefox and Google Chrome)
WebExtensions not supported "statusbar/addonbar" from xul-addons like as "Addon-bar restored", "Status-4-ever" , etc
These are the inevitable changes in Firefox - all Xul-addons is die in Firefox 57 (November 2017)

The point is, the current display of the forecast is intrusive and obscures the content of some sites. And that is ignoring the very annoying default display that pops up if my mouse goes over the icon. If there is truly no way to tuck everything away neatly in a toolbar, then the addon has lost all value for me and there is no coming back. I realize that this isn't your fault per se, but that doesn't excuse the poor design choices made to circumvent it.
FYI: I am currently using an older version of this addon with the Pale Moon browser.
EDIT: If I hide the forecast bar, I might as well just bookmark a weather site and uninstall the addon anyway... Please don't give bad suggestions to legitimate problems.开发者回应

The dev replied and explained the decision to move away from the old version of the addon. Additionally the new version now has the extended forecast when you click on it, which is great. I really like where it is going, thanks for the hard work!
- 评分 5 / 5来自 Firefox 用户 13091063,8 年前It is OK for now, but the radar should be displayed in native resolution. It looks terrible now.
Of course, you should resize/rearrange the other divs to keep everything within the 800x600 no-scrollbar limit.
Also, when the addon updates, it resets all the location to NY. I relied on your addon and the weather/temperature indicated had nothing to do with the reality of my location :)
Another potential improvement: currently there is no way to distinguish between weather alerts and connection failed, both display the temperature in red. You may consider using a different shape or different color altogether.

Ever since it updated to 4.1, every tab has a little hovering button in the bottom right corner that expands into a 7 day forecast. This would be fine if you could actually hide the button or if it didn't print out when you print out a page.

I discovered that was it, have to click the icon, no more display on the add-on bar (using CTR for years), had to revert to version 2.4.8 to get it back. I hope version 4.1 provides the functionality and options I am used to, if I'm still using FireFox in November. Mozilla just keeps on taking away more options with a lot of the updates, I'm thinking of going back to Seamonkey. Maybe try PaleMoon, if it will download correctly this time. Firefox is turning into Chrome and I don't like Chrome.

I used this because I still have the status bar, and I have a lot of space there to spare. This add-on would give a lot of information. However, it has been compressed. I used to be able to hover the mouse over something that was always visible, to immediately get radar. Now it's buried, and takes more time to load. Obviously this is just one person's opinion, but it is no longer the add-on that it once was.开发者回应

I was on Linux earlier and thought that it just was not working correctly on FF because it was on Linux but NO I am now on Windows 7 Ultimate and it is just the same here. You used to be able to display the important info down on the lower add on bar that got replaced by the Classic theme restorer. But you are being just like the idiot FF devs. If I wanted to use a browser that looks and feels and STINKS just like the abortion called Google Chrome I would just use Google Chrome and not FF. Why is this add on now in a STUPID BUTTON up on the top R/H corner of FF. For me it is a PAIN IN MY !@@ to use it so I DON'T I have uninstalled the thing. Why did you move it off of the lower add on bar that can easily be put back by the FF Classic UI add on. I liked just being able to glance down on the lower edge of FF to see the weather Now you have to click on the stupid button. WHAT A LAME IDEA! Your add on was the FIRST AND IT WILL BE THE LAST add on that I ever send in any money to sup[port. 3 months ago I sent you $20 USD for your efforts but now I feel like DEMANDING MY MONEY BACK WHAT this is now is not what I was supporting.
I FEEL ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Before the change having this add on was the ONLY reason I was still using FF. Now I suppose it does not matter what one I use. They are all LAME I am thinking seriously of uninstalling FF along with your LAME Forcast Fox (FIXED oh I mean BROKEN!) add on.
Well I am not a developer or coder etc like the other millions of us out here where some flip burgers some build houses or work on aircraft etc etc the vast majority out here are not programmers and would never be able to develop software. All I know is that the arogant devs of Moxilla are the true culprits of all the issues over the years. Every new version of FF that they release seems like over 80% of add ons get broken. They are a lot like a vast majority of devs in the Linux community as well as the open source arena. They do not give a damn about the people who use their software and for the life of me I cannot understand why in hell they even do it. Too many of them when asked about something a user does not understand how to use or gives some negative feedback about changes that adversely affects most users all too many devs respond with read the F ing manual or hey its free you don't have to use it.
I do not understand very much of what was talked about in the two links you sent me. However this is what I have done since I posted these remarks. The real cause of the issues are not with the individuals who make the add on's the blame sits squarely with the Fire Fox devs and the Mozilla Foundation for letting the dev's do what they want with out any regard for the end users. since posting this is what I have been doing. I have done several Google searches and have come up with some names who are at the head of the Mozilla Foundation and I have also found the snail mail address for their head quarters. Tomorrow I plan on composing a detailed old fashioned buisness letter spelling out all of the reasons as to why I have uninstalled Fire Fox from all of my compuiters and mobile devices with some suggestions that they should implement if they do not want to become irrelavent to the many of us who use their software but really do not like it any more. When I finish my letter I will take it down to my Post Office and mail it Registered with a return recipt so I know that some one on the recieving end actually got my letter. I am an older individual and I remember back before the PC was even in existance. For the most part back then the vast majority of companies as well as non profit foundations were very focused on good customer service as well as good customer relations. Over the years all of that has been replaced by the impersonal tecnology. Every company you call today all have a stupid computerized answering system which usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes to wade through all of the lame menu options before you actually are able to speak with a real person. I remember the day when the first thing you heard was a real red blooded human who answered the phone who asked nicely the purpose for your call. I have found that the most effective means of communicating about an important issue is an old fashioned buisness letter, not email and definately not live chat. It will be interesting to see what sort of response if any that I get from sending my letter. A few years ago I operated a small buisness and needed at the time a very expensive and high end large format printer. It was back when hardware was very expensive, I purchased a scanner that was so expensive that it came bundled with a full version of Photo Shop that at the time cost $600 dollars. This HP printer was like that and almost cost $800 but back then the ink was very inexpensive. Then about 6 months after buying this printer the industry decided to basicly give away the printers and the cost of the ink probably increased 1000%. It was so bad that we could not afford to even use this very expensifve printer that at the time had been reduced in price to around $120 instead of how much we spent only 6 months earlier. We put it up in a closet and everytime I saw it my blood did a slow boil. Then one day I could not stand it any longer and I sat down and wrote a long detailed letter to the new CEO of HP explaining why I would never ever purchase any prduct with the HP branding on it. I did not expect to get any response at all but I was shocked at what happened. A few days after sending the letter I received a phone call from the CEO's office. They must have called directory assistane to get my phone number becasue I did not put that in the letter. The CEO's secritary called to apologize for how thier decisions had negatively affected us and asked me to send them a copy of my original invoice which I mailed to them. They sent me a check for the full price of the pinter including the tax along with extra to cover shipping the printer back to HP. The letter that was sent along with the check had instructions of where to ship the printer along with an RMA number. So you never know what might happen if you send a respectfully written letter even if it is not a positive one.开发者回应

The latest revision, sadly, hogs way too much space on the Firefox interface. It needs to give users the option to choose what information appears on FireFox. I would venture that most users do not need it to tell them everything about their location: city, state, zip code, country and time. Too much information takes up way too much space. It also is no longer playing nicely with NoScript. So please, allow us to specify how much locational information it provides on the Firefox interface and make it more friendly with NoScript.

However, I have no good things to say about Firefox development which seems to want to trash Forecastfox every couple of updates. I stopped updating Firefox for a while because it kept killing off Forecastfox. Now, it's done it again.
Why would Firefox deliberately keep kicking its most popular add-ins into the dumpster? I got onboard with Firefox at Version 1.5, but I'm looking for a better alternative now.开发者回应
