NoScript is an essential piece of the modern web, and it has been for many years. By only allowing the domains you need for vital functionality, you can avoid everything else that is wrong with the modern internet. You can easily exclude dodgy domains (that contain malware), so even sites that contain them become safe as well as far quicker to use. You can often exclude ads, tracking, etc. and anything else undesirable. Trying to browse without it makes the internet seem very slow, which proves what a good job NoScript does. It's so good it is one of the first things I install (after Firefox) on a new PC installation. Highly recommended.
