来自 BoWulf,5 年前I just have to say, I started off with 1 star reviews and got scared with "OMG my IP!!??"... I actually did my own pseudo "code review" (more like search) of some modules, and for those crying IP, please stop. Do your research, or your own investigation as to the reasoning for such a change. I can't bump other reviews, so I decided to quote another reviewer here with good information (with some non-information items removed):

For all of you ... giving the plugin 1 star because you saw a notification about your IP/hostname being collected, you really should try doing ... research prior to ... accusing the devs (who have invested THOUSANDS of hours of their time and expertise for absolutely FREE so that we can have increased privacy, security, and convenience) of being sellouts and corporate lackies. ... the changes in permissions are for the purposes of providing MORE security/privacy and allow the plugin to prevent sneaky advertisers and tracking APIs from using a technique that allows them to cloak their hostname, thereby bypassing certain protections. You can learn more in the uBlock Origin release notes which discussed it at length or just search "uBlock Origin cname uncloaking". ... uBlock Origin is NOT collecting YOUR IP address or hostname. The permission warning is referring to the IP address/hostname of sites you VISIT, not your own. ... uBlock Origin has to have access to that info since it is filtering advertisers/trackers based on that data..."
edit: Thank you Devs (RHill) for keeping up the great work!
