This browser extension adds a practical approval guard to your GitLab workflow, helping teams prevent risky or premature merges. It introduces a visible banner at the top of the page and disables the merge button until the merge request receives at least one approval.

The banner acts as a real-time checklist, reminding contributors to:

• Get a review from another team member
• Share the change in relevant team channels
• Ensure a DevOps team member is involved when needed

To fit different team policies, the extension allows you to configure which branches should be protected—directly on your team’s browsers. This ensures consistent enforcement without requiring changes to GitLab server settings.

By standardizing review practices and reducing human error, this extension helps teams improve code quality, strengthen collaboration, and avoid production issues—all while offering functionality typically reserved for GitLab Premium, at no cost.
