In Firefox select Tools -> Web Developer -> Responsive Design Mode and then from the dropdown menu select any device model. I prefer iPad Pro (12.9 inch). Now you can see favicons!!!!! Another option is to switch to chrome and use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-search-favicons/icmnmooidimjccialmobcnablaiicgob

Could you make tihs able to use on Searx too? Conceivably, Searx runs on many servers, but it seems to be solved by making a new option about target servers.
