Thanks for the review. The addon description has been updated. Go to Addons->Shortkeys->Options to configure key combos.

F1 for Go Back and F2 for Go Forward have always seemed like logical keyboard shortcuts to me, and for some reason Firefox has never exposed those actions for the OS to hook onto. This add-on is pure genius, not just for my reasons, but for so many more. Great job. Saved me the time of digging into WebExtensions myself tonight.

For some reason, this add-on is hardcoded to only work in Firefox versions 50 or earlier:
