YouTube Playlist Deduper finds duplicate videos in a playlist and (optionally) removes the extra copies using the native “Remove from playlist” menu in YouTube. It also offers a temporary sort and a robust auto-scroll to load very large playlists.

• Features
– Detects duplicates by video ID and highlights them in the list
– “Auto” flow: Temporary sort (e.g., Published date), load all items, scan, remove duplicates, then restore sort
– Manual “Scan & Mark” and “Remove” modes
– CSV export of duplicate groups
– Works with very long playlists using a “Recommended videos” anchor trick to keep lazy loading going

• How to use
1) Open any playlist page: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=…
2) Click the toolbar icon → choose a strategy (Keep first/last) → click “Auto” or “Scan & Mark”.
3) If duplicates are found, click “Remove Duplicates” to remove extras via YouTube’s own menu.

• Permissions explained
– tabs / activeTab: to interact with the currently open playlist tab
– storage: to remember your options
– host_permissions: https://www.youtube.com/* so the content script runs on playlist pages only

• Privacy
– No account data, browsing history, or telemetry is collected or sent anywhere.
– All processing happens locally in the page context. No remote code, no analytics.
