In the about section it says "does not hide buttons in the "canvas" area of Google Docs" and "does not hide "Summarize this file" in the right-click menu in Google Drive", but if that's the case, what does this extension even do? The screenshots are inaccurate too, the button still appears in the top right corner of all Google apps

If you want one that works, use "GemiNope" by "DCI.works"

Sorry that the extension doesn’t seem to be working for you. I can’t reproduce this issue; for example, when I open GMail, the little icon is hidden. Since many of the CSS changes we do are identical, I would either extension to work roughly as well as each other (though I think there are slight differences between what we catch; for instance they use a method of hiding the "summarize this file" menu item that is a little too fragile for my taste). Could it have been a matter of needing to refresh the page?

The Gemini buttons that appear in a new Google Doc unfortunately can’t easily be handled by either of us (i.e., the ones you see when you create a doc with https://docs.new); those are not HTML elements that can easily be hidden with CSS, and instead are drawn on the page as if they were images.

    Appears to mostly work but annoyingly the Gemini "Ask" button in the YouTube fullscreen player is still present. I hope this will get fixed.

    it's okay but it usually hides things that aren't gemini that im looking for when im searching on google like locations and non-gemini answers to my questions

    Have no long time experience with this but it works with Firefox 149. Many Thanks.
    Before I was using "Hide Google AI Overviews" from Zbarnz. It worked for a while but then of all sudden not.

    Excellent extension! It will occasionally break/fail, but thats from Google making changes to Gemini stuff that the dev has to respond to those changes. Give the dev a moment to update the app, always, before getting angry. Thank you dev!

    No more "AI Mode" button as well in my Google results. AI mode is normally left from the All tab. Google is more crazy each day...

    I do not know why I still use Google at this moment.

    Works as advertised (read the description about limitations and on-time promotions) and the dev is chill (I emailed him about a new gemini push from Google and he quickly blocked it)

    Does exactly what it says it does. Makes me much happier using google drive.

    As far as I looked, this was the only Gemini blocker that also blocked Gemini in the "People also ask" section. My only gripe is that, every time I search, the AI overview shows up for a split second before disappearing. This was avoided in a different Gemini blocker.

    This should be hidden as of v0.2.24! Check for an update. Thanks again for the suggestion!

    Simply does not work. I installed, opened a Google Drive tab, and immediately got a Gemini popup.

    This is one of the one-time promo pop-ups that this extension doesn’t work on*, and I find those annoying too. It will, however, hide nearly all Gemini-related menu items, commands, and search features.

    * This is because when a web page creates an internal overlay, often it disables access to the content behind it in addition to covering it up. This means hiding the popup would make it impossible to use the page itself. This extension doesn’t use active code to be more trustworthy, so there’s not a good way to remove those pop-ups.
