Been using for years I love the new design in the gui part of the extention . . Love it better than anything else and is very helpful.

With the new 2024.12.3 update, my muscle memory has been the death of me. Many of the buttons have changed places, the options are different.

Example; when opening the add-on to complete a fill-in action, clicking the main rectangle no longer defaults to auto-fill. It now opens the menu to view the details. Then I have to go back out a menu level, then click on the TINY "(Fill)" blue pill button. The text is so slim and small that to a person with average eyesight, it looks like (F|||) It's a terrible look, and requires two extra interactions I didn't need before.

(Hindsight edit; I found the following steps to add the copy username/password buttons back

Settings > Appearance > Show quick copy actions on vault

I'll give you another star for fixing that at least)

The lack of consideration given to the effect this update has on the user's workflow is astounding. If you wanted to make it more "Apple" and keep the same functionality, that's fine. Making functional changes too, and adding extra steps?? That's too far. I'd suggest reverting back to the previous update's functional framework, and then you can keep the new look.

Edit: while I'm at it, Feature request: Have there be an options default-generation settings, and let me generate a new username or password or whatever can be generated with one click. Add a kebab menu beside the generate buttons for people who change requirements every time.

Update 1/8/2025:
The Bitwarden forum mods are now in full-force censorship on their community forum. Anyone that provides feedback saying the update severely inhibits their workflow now gets their posts deleted immediately. They've also limited posts to 1 per hour to stop all the complaints coming in. Censorship is not the answer as the world now knows, however Bitwarden is suppressing any negative feedback where they can control it.

This app has fabulous for years, but there was a HUGE UI DOWNGRADE in late 2024 and it takes many clicks now to just get logged into a site. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE UI change and I hate it!!! PLEASE, change it back!

It certainly does what it should, but the UI for filling passwords is hideous.

Currently the “fill” button occupies approximately 5% of the card. The “copy” button occupies less than that. Both of those activities are performed far more frequently than “view,” and yet the majority of the card is dedicated to “view.”

Also? This is the reverse of the way the application works in other browsers, so if you use Chrome and have it done properly, you'll be continually miserable with FireFox.

This plugin needs to create a “view” button to replace the “Fill” button and make the majority of the card “fill” the credentials.

Used to love this add-on but since the recent update I find it less convenient to use. I used to be able to click on the whole entry to fill out the login info for the page I was on. Now I have to hit a button instead, which usually moves right before I can hit it because the thing just loaded properly so my click ends nowhere. I know it's a little thing but it's very irritating.

Edit - got a response from the developer. There is a setting where one can change that. I have now done that and things are running smoothely again.

It was good until they forced the stupid "fill" button in the new interface changes. Please bring back the old way. Apparently some people can switch back but I've uninstalled and reinstalled the extension several times and still have no option to go back to the way it was.

Really? You moved away from a clean functional look to a shaky and distracting UI. UX also is not a step forward even so I think I know what you wanted to achieve. For me the new design looks cheap and is no improvement.

Love Bitwarden. HATE the UI update. It's too cluttered, too slow, and too big.
Before, clicking the icon would just show me the logins for the current site. Now it loads all 500+ items... I don't know what you guys were thinking when you designed this.

Same as all the recent comment. The new design greatly reduce the usability. Please revert.

Really great password manager! But the new UI is hoooorribly unintuitiv, really slow and buggy! Takes ages to load and when generating a new password, it does not react to changes in length anymore. Please go back, it was so great!

Have tried out so many password managers. Bitwarden has the easiest functionality and can be used on so many platforms without a limit to the amount of stored passwords.

if you need details...
- way too much white space, with huge fonts everywhere. literally has the biggest font sizes on my screen out of anything
- slow, maybe caused by showing entire vault on the first tab. not to mention security implications
- more difficult out of the box to use with the tiny "fill" button

I had been a happy Bitwarden user (paid) for several years after migrating from 1Password, and I routinely recommended it to others. Unfortunately, Bitwarden's December 2024 UI replacement is an utter tire fire. Everything is relentlessly clickier. Rare tasks (such as editing credentials) are UI-privileged over common tasks (such as entering credentials into sites).

This rating is a warning, Bitwarden: usability is not optional, and "pretty" is not a substitute for it. I'm about to cancel my membership and check out Buttercup and KeePass. I expect my recommendations to shift accordingly.

Terrible new UI, please revert to classic.
Edit to dev reply: this is not a solution, I want everything to be changed back to classic, not some half assed change. Why is it so hard to understand that people like things the way they are and don't like forced change down our throats for no reason at all?
The devs are mass copy pasting this comment below for any and all negative comments without reading any amount of context, the cope is hard and real.

The extension has problems with connecting on login attempts to the desktop app for confirmation of biometric verification. I regularly have to resort to manual password entering....
It's becoming worse with the latest updates...
