Google translate works well here but there are simpler extensions for that. Google's translations are average. I couldn't get Bing to work here. Yandex works but is worse than other options. Using DeepL just opens a new tab and pushes your text over to the new tab which I can do myself with copy paste. DeepL won't let you translate a whole webpage for free, only text snippets. DeepL is poor at names, idioms, titles, and short bits of text but really good at longer form texts.

This is a nice extension with good customization hindered by poor translation tools. For my purposes its better just to use something simpler.

First of all, thanks for a great add-on, it truly is an amazing tool! Indispensable for someone like me living in Asia!! Unfortunately, there is a very irritating bug that I'm struggling with: No matter if I've told the add-on to always translate a site or not, it just doesn't work when opening a new tab/page for the same domain. What happens is, it tries to auto-detect the language for the newly opened page and then translates that, but it doesn't detect the whole page as Chinese (usually traditional), so what happens is that maybe only one or two pieces of text for the entire page gets translated, but the rest remains in Chinese. Once I go to change the language to Chinese, it works flawlessly. Same problem happens when going to a new page that hasn't been set up for "always translate". This means that I have to manually translate most sites. If this bug can't be fixed outright, maybe you could create a keyboard shortcut to enable selecting which language to translate from? Or that it can select a language to translate from and doesn't always first try to do auto-detect?

Completly work in Japanese but not better than Google Chrome.

It's ok, but on some sites this extension is so annoying. It detects the wrong language and I have to manually select the correct original language every single time.

I have a problem with IMDb synopses. When translating from English to Spanish, the movie or series synopses are replaced by the (.) symbol and are not translated.
Please could you solve this problem?

you wanna know whats hella annoying? If i want the highlighted text to be translated just once by deepl because lets say google or bing did shitty job and i click the little deepl icon in a popup window it wont redirect me just once, it will change the default translation service to deepl and every new highlighted text that i want to translate will open a new tab with deepl - unless i change the settings to google again, and so on, ridiculous!

Seit 3 Tagen funktioniert die Übersetzung in Deutsch nicht mehr. Es kommen völlig frei erfundene Wörter, falsche Satzstellung usw. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle aus welcher Sprache übersetzt wird.
Beispiele: aus amored wird in empfempft,
Herds of Elephants -> Elefantenhirten,
cruise missile -> Kreuzfahrtrakete.
also derzeit unbrauchbar.

Recently the quality of translations has dropped considerably. To the point that they are quite bad, they lose context or are cut, they can even be all 3 at the same time

This used to work so well for me but now it's not translating full blocks of text when I read novels. I have to switch to each translator to maybe find one that will translate the text that wasn't translated. It's frustrating to have this extra step. It's like having those copy and paste add-ons.

Why TF would some make the same "shortcut" for pop up as the screenshot gesture on the phone... 🤦‍♂️

Please add an option to disable popup when pressing three fingers. It get annoying when taking a screenshot.

It's chnging a sense e.g., when translating the sentence about loss of placenta mass during oil testing, he translates it as body weight loss. Another translator translates this sentence correctly.

The thing is cool, but for some reason, even if you turn off popup when you select text, it still appears. This has never happened before, and translation of the selected text was always triggered by double-clicking Ctrl. Popup is simply annoying with its appearance on PC

Please allow a setting that disables the popup appearing when placing three fingers on the screen. It's really annoying when I'm taking a screenshot.

It's alright, at least it doesn't randomly open a new tab just to translate. Just wish I could hover my mouse over the translation and see the original text.

The add on is rather convenient, but the automatically translate web pages of same domain setting refuses to turn on for whatever reason

기능이 편했고 번역률이 좋았지만 자동 또는 감지된 언어가 없어서 아쉽습니다. 게다가 번역 설정할때는 해당 부가기능 설정 페이지에서 해야 해서 번거로워요.
