It was awesome for the first week, before I realised I was using a free tiral for the premium version. All this did was highlight how well a simple spell checker can work, but with zero basic features its entirely useless. Im not signing up to a subscription for a simple spell checker.
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon drthmik, vor einem TagUsed this for YEARS
Was a great free app that checked spelling and grammar with options for more in premium
Now they want $70 a year to do the same thing
EVERYTHING is premium
I'll be deleting this app IMMEDIATELY after submitting
Truly awful, would give 0 stars if I could - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 19681566, vor 2 Tagen
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon M01t3n, vor 2 TagenI used this tool for several months and and had a good experience with it for a long time, however, the recent changes make it unusable as an extension without paying.
Prior to this, I would have given it a 5-star rating, and should have, but I cannot currently do so given the price.
I wish for the best and hope that it does well, though I will personally not continue using it for the foreseeable future, even if I understand the reasoning behind the changes. If you are willing to pay for its services however, it is very high quality and I experienced few, if any issues with it. - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon raxa, vor 2 Tagen"We have made the difficult decision to limit the use of LanguageTool’s browser extension to Premium users only."
Ah yes using the browser extention is paid but you can still install it for "free" ... yes ... i'm shure it will help to not died again free ai ... - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 20115663, vor 2 TagenGREEDY EXTENSION. NOW ASKS FOR MONEY JUST FOR USE IT.
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Аноним, vor 3 TagenIt worked badly, contains lot of misspells, and recently developers just removed free usage. It was 3 of 5 early, now worse then 1/5
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Arianramianpour, vor 3 Tagenit was awesome until they just removed free
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 13908078, vor 3 TagenThis extension established itself at a time when there were few alternatives, giving it a firm market share in its category. But now, when there are a bunch of alternatives to choose from, you decide to put every single feature behind a paywall?
You deserve to make some money out of your work but damn, that is a wild decision. - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon loomloon, vor 4 Tagen
- Bewertet mit 2 von 5 Sternenvon Nícholas Kegler, vor 4 TagenIt was good, but I often had issues with the extension. It was full of bugs. Recently, after accepting changes, it stopped replacing the original text correctly and would basically concatenate the old text with the corrected version.
Now they want to start charging for usage, which is fine— I get it. But at least make the product reliable before asking people to pay for it. - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Tim, vor 4 TagenWhen using any of the non-American English languages, I found that many words are missing. Absolutely bizarre that it doesn't have all the words in from the big dictionaries as a base-line. This was ok when it was free, but I'm not paying for a spell checker that doesn't know what's in the dictionary. You know your AI is slopping it up when Word 97 does a better job.

- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Rvier.fr, vor 4 TagenNo free tiers anymore. Require a premium account, so identification required. And add difficulty to run his own hosted server.
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon treilly94, vor 4 TagenWas great until they wanted to charge a monthly subscription

- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Midas, vor 4 TagenMajor privacy concern. The extension's privacy policy states that it can collect and store text, prompts, chats, files, metadata, IP addresses, usage data, and browsing-related information. It also states that collected data may be used for analytics, service improvement, and AI model training.
I only want a text-correction tool. Sending and retaining this much data is unacceptable for such a basic function, especially when handling potentially sensitive text. EU and especially US users should carefully consider the privacy implications before installing this extension. - Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon jo, vor 4 TagenUninstalled because it's no longer free. I don't understand why this would be the case when there are free alternatives. Very disappointing.
- Bewertet mit 1 von 5 Sternenvon Firefox-Benutzer 20111655, vor 4 TagenWas free for basic functionality, now all features require subscription.
- Bewertet mit 3 von 5 Sternenvon Chris Hayes, vor 4 Tagen$6 / month for a grammar checker is too much. Seems like the extension is just trying to capitalize on the AI hype. LanguageTool has been a reliable alternative to Grammarly for years, so only docking 2 stars.
