sometimes a little clunky with dark mode detection but works really well for sites without dark mode support and you can set it to only enable when your device is in dark mode. plus works on mobile

4 out of 5. It works great on most websites, but breaks Wikipedia, even when using Wikipedia's native dark mode without the extension converting the page to dark. When viewing Wikipedia pages in Firefox with Dark Reader enabled as an extension (but not running on the page), images on Wikipedia do not close and stay open across other Wikipedia urls.

well it's good in general but far from ideal. For corporate sites it's a must-have: its filter mode is often better than the corporate "Dark" mode even if it exists.


I miss a method to disable or alter modes based on the full URL instead of domain (this will immensely help for plaintext in particular).
Also it doesn't invert PDFs.

Three things annoy me about it: the slowness of the dynamic modes, failure of Filter mode to display plaintext files readably (they show them as an black text on an almost-black background), and inability to crate full-page screenshots with Filter modes (the part of the page which isn't displayed at the time of the screenshot doesn't have the inverted colours). This all annoys me far less than the white-background sites, like addons.mozilla.org (and there are others too which somehow avoid being inverted while not being protected), but that's not the add-on failure, partly because I can swiftly mitigate the add-on troubles using hotkeys.

Je n'ai jamais eu rien à redire depuis que je l'utilise, c'est-à-dire plus de 5 ans, mais depuis la récente mise à jour, je ne peux plus utiliser Dark Reader pour naviguer dans les menus, barre latérale et personnelle de Firefox. Ça rend tout noir, seul quelques icônes restent visibles.

really a must-have addon if you don't want your retinas to be burnt to a crisp on a daily basis. i'm rating it 4/5 because it has helped me for so long, but sadly the past days its been having issues with youtube to the point where i can't have it activated at all for it.
every time i try and activate it and refresh youtube homepage, the browser is about to crash and it asks me to stop this addon specifically. when i pause the addon, it works fine and i can refresh youtube without the browser almost collapsing.
were this to be fixed, then its an easy 5/5 for me.

Good... almost. For instance, it doesn't work in this very page page at addons.mozilla.org

Ist eigentlich ganz gut für die wenigen Websites, die noch keinen Darkmode haben! Aber manchmal kommt es verständlicher Weise zu darstellungsproblemem 8 out of a 10!

Works really well for the most part, and on a lot of websites it completely looks like the site is using their own dark mode. However, it's not very good at detecting when sites have their own dark mode, so you have to manually disable it sometimes. Also, sometimes it doesn't properly invert some things and you'll have to change the filter mode or disable it for that site. But having dark mode for everything is worth the small bugs

4/5 cause you can't override what's protected by the browser

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on wikipedia-at least not for me.

Can you "darkify" some images? Sometimes all is dark and there are super light images it's horrible ☹️

Edit: they have the background of the old colors ☹️

Edit 2: some website divs with a the same background color as body but when dark reader is applied, their background color is different ☹️
