wót Seumas, pred 5 meseciLike its sister extension (SponsorBlock), DeArrow changes the game when it comes to experiencing Youtube. If only were were a solution on mobile and elsewhere, too. Crowdsourced video titles means no more hyperbole, obnoxious formatting, and outright lying or baiting. And when you *do* run into those things, it feels good improving them so that others with the extension can benefit from a clearer and cleaner experience. I almost never pay or donate for extensions (though I have), but I immediately did so for DeArrow and SponsorBlock. I hope these extensions both grow in popularity, so even more videos are improved at a faster rate.
The only reason I knocked a star off of this review is that if I don't QUICKLY add the title when the input interface is open, it will always kill my entire browser (Zen Browser on Windows 11 usually). Everything -- all windows, tabs, etc -- the whole browser just hangs and the only way to get it working again is to kill the process and launch again. It happens so quickly that I have to type my title out in notepad, then copy it so that as soon as I open the input interface, I can immediately paste it in and hit the submit button.
However, if using it passively (not contributing -- just getting the benefit of better titles), it has no apparent negative impact. I would contribute more frequently if it were more stable, but it is otherwise terrific.

- Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót Taw, pred 10 dneviI installed it and am using it to replace a much better addon that is no longer updated. I only care about two features: changing the case of titles and replacing thumbnails with video frames.
I have a couple problems with DeArrow:
Similar to SponsorBlock, the crowdsourced nature of it makes it very unreliable. There are many cases of overly opinionated user submissions that conflict with the original material in one way or another.
There are settings to remove the crowdsource functionality and make it work the way I described above, but getting it to do that wasn't very easy and required some hoops to be jumped through.
The much bigger set of hoops is the process of getting to use the addon. You cannot use the addon for free, and the description is misleading.
To get access you need to first click a button to decline paying, then you need to apply for free access, you do not get free access immediately, so you have to start your short free trial. My trial expired before I was granted free access. I was very tempted to uninstall the plugin at every step of this way, and the experience means I will never donate.
I understand the desire to make money off this, but this attitude sucks when it actively and very successfully disrupts the usability of the tool. I am not recommending it to other people. Will drop it if I ever make my own addon to replace the old clickbait remover, or find an alternative.
Maybe this is petty and vindictive, but I'm so tired of all the bullshit and lack of groovy attitudes. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Josy, pred 14 dnevi
- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót den, pred 15 dneviThis makes YouTube SO MUCH BETTER! Videos I would never click on are made way more interesting now that I can actually see what they're about. Every YouTuber feels the need to oversimplify their thumbnails and titles to make it more "clickable", but for some of us, that has the opposite effect. Thank you for making the YouTube experience better.
- Z 4 z 5 pógódnośonywót LongRamen, pred 21 dneviplease update it to work with the recent new youtube layout! the button to show/hide the replaced thumbnail/title now moves around when you try to click it, very annoying

YouTube changed the layout causing the extension to replace thumbnails with blank spaces. I have fixed this in 2.1.7, but unfortunately Firefox is slow at reviewing updates.
This will take a few days to appear on the extension store. On Firefox, it could take up to 14 days, but you can switch to the beta version by clicking "FirefoxSignedInstaller" in the release (https://github.com/ajayyy/DeArrow/releases/tag/2.1.7). Make sure to backup your data and only have one extension enabled at once if you choose to do that.
While you wait on the old version, you can disable thumbnail replacements to see the original thumbnail instead of a blank space. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót SDM, pred 3 meseciworked well for a while, then it broke.
Edit; Dev fixed it, add-on works well, not perfect but helps cut down the insanely over embellished nature of YouTube thumbnails/titles.Wótegrono wuwijarja
