Recently acquired by Avast. I just wanted an extension to get rid of cookie banners, not spyware for a scammy company. My experience has been fine so far, but I can no longer recommend this extension.

Opening a new tab out of nowhere because you want to announce some update is a NOGO! Also Avast as a partner is questionable, because they have a history of installing adware without permission on your device. Removing this addon now. But still thanks for all years.

Sold out to Avast, a shareware/upsell AV company. Expect tracking behavior, advertising, etc in the near future.

Just popped up a new tab while I was giving a presentation. WTF? Just for a "hey, I sold out" message. NOPE. Uninstalled. When you doing something like hijacking a user's browser to show them some ad, you've just joined the dark side.

Plus, I've noticed it not working that well. I still see plenty of annoying "Hey! We use cookies" popups on sites.

Not a fan of Avast taking over. Not a fan of spawning a new tab which is basically free marketing. Boo

Welp, I got a message that told me: "This Add-On was sold to Avast."

So I deleted/removed this Add-On.

As for why,
I don't trust Avast. Their "antivirus" gets always loaded as bloatware.

Whelp another addon sold out to another company. I don't blame the author but no thank you. This plugin will slowly turn into some marketing tool with a bunch of useless features. Uninstalling this ASAP.

I loved this extension until 5mn ago, when I learnt that it has now been acquired by Avast!

I highly doubt a company that makes its profit based on collecting user data is a good owner for an extension that is supposed to protect us from data collection and targeted ads...

I am uninstalling it ASAP.

Please publish your source code on GitHub. It's already licensed under GPLv3 and having easy access to the source code would make it possible for the community to make contributions and improve the extension. Functionality wise, top notch - I couldn't imagine using the internet without it <3

wow! youtube doesn't load videos anymore with this addon.
--> i really think that hide a cookies message is not the best solution, i prefer accept automatically a cookie message better than hide a cookies message, it is what the name of this addon means, isn't it?
for me "i don't care about cookies" = "accept them"
and NOT "don't answer the question and hide it..." because this leads to bugs...

That's pretty much the first extension I always install on any browser. This extension is a must-have to automatically reject all cookies without having to manually reject them one by one and saves a lot of time. It would be great to have it as an extension on Android!

EDIT: it has been bought by a company that will collect and sell your data. Too bad.

Excellent add-on, but lately I doesn't let Youtube to play videos. Any solution?

By the way, it doesn't function with google.com/finance/
