Was working well under Linux until recently, when the voice started sounding like a neck box, like other reports

the voice sounds like it has emphysima and is speeking through a neck box. Why?

Makes it so you cant copy and paste in any other application. The voices are grating and annoying to listen to. Unfortunately I havent found anything else with a better voice. The option to change voices other then the first few dont work having you run a script that doesnt work and having you basically write your own code to make the others work.

Only 1 voice available, which sounds *very* robotic and hard to listen to.

Best Text to speech for Firefox

Asks me to grant additional permissions every half 15 minutes. It is a waste of time and a terrible distraction.

Got to new page, click few buttons, come back and then reload your page. REALLY???

The voice isn't amazing at all... but it's good enough until there's a better alternative for firefox

it just simply ridiculous guys. Is this a joke or somehting? It's probably my fault, but this sounds 10 times worse as stephen hawking. Or maybe like one of Edison's first phonograph recordings Mawawary hawawad alala liwiwiwttle lawawawam. Come on..

In my language (Czech), it's like listening to a robot. Try the Edge browser, it has the reader already installed and it's perfect.

Every time I start it, it wants me to grant additional permissions. Additional? I gave it the permissions it needed when I ran it the first time so why do I have to give it additional permissions every day I run it? I want it to be given all the permissions it needs to run and make that permanent. Instead, you have to go through a tedious rigmerole of opening a webpage, scrolling down and clicking on a speak button, then tick a box saying you are not a robot EVERY TIME you use it! No! I won't do that.
