You have to get Gemini API key and that may put you off at the first glance, but the step is well described and actually easy to follow. Very useful once you set it up. It will save so much time for you. First, because Gemini is state-of-art model with estimated IQ score well above 86th percentile as of now, it does good quality job that actually is useful. Second, not only you can get summaries and translations, you can use custom prompt option to summarize AND translate it at one go. You can even make it output in style of rap lyrics, if you are so inclined, and later ask it to change the lyrics into poems. The imagination and your ability to write a good prompt will be your ceiling here.

Not perfect and user friendly but save much time for reading and studying if you TRY IT ;)

Can this addon do other functions such as prepend reformat and rewrite this text to a logged in Gemini tab and what about chatgpt? Prepending rewrite and format this for me before the highlighted text would be awesome.

Haven't tried but will soon. On old xpi firefox extensions we could send text or images or links to images anyway to other tabs input fields.

We need a way to send mages to ai editors chat input fields to modify. Maybe beyond the scope of this addon. Sure for sites requiring logged in we may need already logged in and tab already open. Xpi based firefox could easily do this. May have to use an old xpi fork i keep around for certain old addons that have functions i need sometimes. Plus has major speed compared to browsers today.

Shouldn't be any reasons except for ahole Mozilla neutering Firefox a long time ago so the browser was more chrome like and couldn't function. Miss having my browser tweaked perfectly for myself.

Looking for an addon developer who knows how to send text and images to ai websites open in tabs or to be able to pass text and url to an image to multiple tabs and if closed to open them all.

So maybe addon allows changing text that will send along with whatever you highlight by right click send to ai?

Send to Ai a lot of us need. Send text to ai send image url to ai or url of anything to Ai.

Checked addon. How do free users get api key. On xpi Firefox you could just send to the actual text field bypassing any api. As in you don't need any api to send text to an input field and ai websites have an input field. Xpi Firefox can do this right now and no api needed.

Have an old xpi fork that will work perfectly for this. But i admit i don't know how to make new add-ons but i do know a tiny bit about modifying xpi addons and could possibly make a modification to an old addon that does the trick. Just unzip xpi modify files save rezip rename xpi.

On pc this would be a right click summarize link. Sends the page to Gemini. Or do we need xpi Firefox for these dumb functions?
