- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Jurtaani, 2 luni în urmăyou expect me to pay for stuff that can be done through ublock for free?
yah! that uninstall addon button comes real handy thanks. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Anonymous, 2 luni în urmăI'm glad that the developer has listened to the users feedback and increased the limit. Now the extension is at least usable, and perhaps even useful. Only time will tell.
I don't understand people being upset just because a developer wants to earn some money off his work, what's wrong with that? That being said, I still despise subscriptions in general, and $30 is way too much for what it does in my humble opinion.
PS: remember that not everyone lives in a "first world" country, so the value proposition changes depending on where you're from.Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 2 luni în urmăHi. Thanks for your review. We will be changing the limits to 40 sites a week. Please notice that not all websites people visit a day will show banners. Mostly only new websites.
We have dynamic pricing for iOS subscriptions and will do the same for desktop subscriptions. Feel free to email @ hello@super-agent.com and I can offer you a discount. - Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót VictorSkullzL, 2 luni în urmăEdit2: Good extension, I appreciate the dev's communication and hard work. I saw the news about the generous 40 free clicks when I booted up a browser with the extension still installed. I didn't expect to editing my review again, but I thought some more about this extension recently and I think the pricing model is pretty fair. As long as the lifetime license price option never gets taken away from users.
Best of luck to you Super Agent team! <3Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 2 luni în urmăHi. 1$ seems pretty reasonable.
Edit: You are free not to want to pay, it is understandable. I just don't see how that justifies giving low reviews to every extension that is not free. Does that mean I should pay developers out of pocket? That people should work for free? - Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Lario Commet, 2 luni în urmăSubscription business model slop. Boo. I would have purchased it if it was single-payment, developers have gone mad with subscriptions. Boo. Switching to Consent-O-Matic.

- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19209014, 2 luni în urmăSuddenly started charging a ridiculous rate for what was free. It is one thing to charge for your work - it is another thing entirely to suddenly switch to a paid model with zero transparency. The website for this extension doesn't mention anywhere that it is NOT FREE, nor does the extension page on the store. I will no longer be using this as a result
Update: the developer waited almost 2 weeks since my review, updated both this extension's store page and their website, and they've now posted a response claiming I was wrong. But neither place mentioned pricing (or "not free") when I originally posted. The pricing on the website is buried in the FAQs page, so technically it is there (as of now). Claiming that you informed customers of the business model change by putting in a pop-up that asks for money is not most people's idea of being transparent (compare that to a pop-up that warns me for several months in advance that you'll start charging)Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 2 luni în urmăHi,
How is 1$ a month a ridiculous rate? And how is it not transparent? We literally informed all users via a pop up notification. The website mentions the price, so does the extension page. You can still downgrade to a previous version to avoid paying. I don't see how could this be more transparent.
How would you suggest we charge for our work then?

We only show a pop up once every 15 days to free users. That seems very reasonable and hardly spam.- Z 5 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19414653, 2 luni în urmă

I don’t understand where all the hate to this app is coming from. If you’re not paying your subscription with money, you’re paying with your data… - Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót jesusjimsa, 2 luni în urmăThe extension itself works fine, but they have started charging for it.
Initially, it was completely free on both iOS and desktop. After that, they started charging on iOS after three pop-ups were blocked, but said that desktop would remain free.
However, I've just received a message from the extension saying that they will also only allow three blocks per day on desktop.
Consent-O-Matic is completely free, works just as well (or even better) most of the time, and is open source.
The daily messages telling me to pay on iOS were annoying; I won't put up with them on desktop either. It was nice while it lasted, but I'm going to uninstall it.
If you're OK with paying, go for it — it's a fine extension. Otherwise, just install Consent-O-Matic. - Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 13897011, 2 luni în urmăUsed to be free and decided to swap to subscription based. Does not advertise that it is sub based.
- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót ssssaaaa, 2 luni în urmăDoesn't work unless you pay. Consent-o-matic does the same as this plugin but works on more sites, is free and open-source.
- Z 1 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19185659, 2 luni în urmăThis USED to be a free plugin. Sadly, the developer has decided to chase money and remove all utility from the free version, with it only working "up to 3 times a day", otherwise asking for ~$10 per month. So, instead I will be uninstalling.
If you are reading this and haven't enabled automatic updates for plugins, then MAKE SURE TO DISABLE THEM!.
Louis Rossmann was right.Wótegrono wuwijarja
jo se napisał 2 luni în urmăHi, the extension costs 1$ a month. Not 10$. You can also downgrade if you don't want to pay the subscription. - Z 2 z 5 pógódnośonywót Wužywaŕ Firefox 19413785, 2 luni în urmăSadly, a case study as to why to not enable automatic updates. Clippy and Louis Rossmann would be sad. Created an account to review due to recent changes.
I will give the author credit where it is due, he seems to be updating the extension regularly. It's now on version 3.31 and as far as I can tell, the subscription wording was added back 3.29, and I've since downgraded to 3.28 and will leave it there until I find a replacement. I will also give the author credit for creating a popup to let me know as I hadn't realized it had stopped working. And I learned that downgrading an extension is a built in feature of Firefox.
The only other extension I know that charges is PushBullet, but their free option is quite more generous than '3 times a day.' I also rather look at it that something has changed for the developer as he now feels he needs funds and hope things turn out well for him. It's easier to think that, than something like he just got greedy. Or maybe it's better the other way around?
For what it claims, it seems to do what is says. Only had some issues with locally hosted sites, but the blacklist feature is useful enough for that.
Edit:
Updated to 2 stars due to friendly developer response. I cannot go farther than that because they change the extension after the fact. Would have no issue if it was like that from the start. It's unfortunate because I see where the developer is coming from (as a programmer myself) and I understand the thought process, but can't support the act. If you see this Francisco, I thank you for your offer, but I'll have to refuse on principle.Wótegrono wuwijarja

Thanks for the fair and detailed review. Happy to offer you a year long license. I am also glad to know its possible to downgrade as I understand maybe not everyone will be willing to pay, and that way you have a solution. Unfortunately we are two people working almost full time here, and for this to be viable we need to charge a subscription. I don't think 1$ is greedy or unfair, but if people don't like it they can downgrade or stop using it.
Best regards
