It's perfect for badly made and unbalanced videos on the internet (one speaker is louder than another in debates, volume drops/spikes etc). Also, I don't have Netflix but I know they usually buy films with mixes for cinema (its cheaper than paying for a new mix) which has huge dynamic range so this can maybe help you reduce it and save you many volume slider adjustments.
