    not working at all on newest firefox.

    It's nice and black, but unfortunately also changes the URL from a "selected blank" one to an "unselected sometext", so it's more work to start typing an address. Also, the page goes white before the site loads, so it's not a complete fix ihmo.

    With an older browser I get blank but not black. Please consider setting a strict_min_version

    Postscript: thanks for the reply, 1.0.1 works as expected with Waterfox Classic 56.2.14. Apologies for the late confirmation.

    An update should appear shortly. Please let me know if this doesn't resolve the issue. My understanding is that this should work on v55 and greater, per https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/chrome_settings_overrides#Browser_compatibility
