I only had trouble on one of my machines where it saved a bookmark but into a different folder. I found an addon that caused the trouble. In my case "Default bookmark folder", which I installed before I learned about this addon, overrode the destination folder selected by mouse right-click. I disabled it and now "Bookmark tab here" works like charm.
